The Ariya's styling was first unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019.
Futuristic LED lights, an attractive angular front end, and a gently sloping roofline that transitions to a single horizontal brake light.Â
The unique Akatsuki Copper color is sure to become iconic.Â
On the inside, the Ariya has a 12-inch infotainment display, a digital gauge cluster,
and a modern-looking interior you'd expect from any premium electric car.Â
There's also a touch-sensitive pad on the dashboard for climate control,
and the steering wheel also has a number of key controls built in, so you can alter settings with ease.

Nissan Ariya 2022: Performance
The options range from a front-wheel-drive version with a 63 kWh electric motor that produces 215 hp and does 0-62mph in 7.5 secondsÂ
to the top-of-the-line Ariya e-4orce 87kWh Performance model with 389 hp, and a 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds
- making it faster than a Porsche Macan.
Nissan's e-Pedal is essentially regenerative braking on steroids, and can allow for single pedal driving once you learn how to time it right.Â
Just release the gas pedal and the car will automatically come to a stop and won't start up again until you press down on the gas again.
The e-Pedal isn't as sudden as the brakes, and can't replace them completely (especially in an emergency),Â
but it is a very convenient feature that can be toggled on and off while you drive.
Nissan Ariya 2022: ProPilot and Intelligent Integration
The Ariya is full of modern technology. From Nissan's ProPilot semi-autonomous driving system, complete with freeway driving aidsÂ
and guided parking to automatic emergency braking, plus a 360-degree camera system.
Inside, the dashboard contains dual 12.3-inch displays, one for the driver info and one for infotainment, and a color heads-up display.
The dual screens are particularly cool. Because they're linked, content on one display can be sent to the other with a swipeÂ
- for instance, the passenger might find a location on the route and send it to the driver screen for navigation.
The Ariya has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and you can use Amazon AlexaÂ
or Nissan's own voice-control system if you prefer. Updates for this technology can be delivered wirelessly using a built-in 4G connection.
Nissan Ariya 2022: Range and Charging
The Nissan Ariya's range is also determined by which model you drive. The front-wheel drive Ariya Venture Plus is good for 300 miles of range.
All trim levels of the Ariya have 87 kWh batteries and are planned to comeÂ
with 22kW AC fast charging and up to 130kW DC rapid charging - all with the CCS charging standard.
